We should be careful not to ask God to take us out of somewhere He has led us into for His purposes. The wilderness seasons of life can cause us to feel alone and overlooked. These are not times when God had forgotten us but are when He has isolated from other things so we can focus on him.

The Case for Uncommon Leadership
Wannabe Leadership Do you ever notice how the more people “try” to be unique or different from the group, the more they look like everyone else doing the same thing? When I was in High School, we called that person a “wannabe” or a “try-hard.” They were trying so hard to stand out they end up standing out in the…
The Case for Critics
You may think I am crazy, but I believe there is a place for critics in our lives. I think we can benefit from them if we approach their feedback in the right way.
Where the Dirt and Divine Collide
The heart is where the dirt and divine collide in mystery and splendor. It is often that most tangible way we can sense the spiritual while still confined to the realm of the natural. Greeting Cards With my dad, however, this mostly showed up in two ways. The first is he never wrote a card. Instead, he preferred to give Hallmark cards with detailed…
What Makes an Effective Church Plant Website?
I get to see over 100 church planting websites every year. I am always surprised by how creative pastors can be with their online presence. I have also been disappointed others hadn’t been more intentional with their church plant website. Having an excellent church plant website is not about spending a ton of money. In fact, simpler is better for…
The Struggle Is Real
What to do when we doubt? If you don’t struggle with faith, then you may not have it. Often times, we believe the opposite is true. We doubt because we doubt. But to question our faith, there must be something on the line, or there would be no reason to doubt. Fishing and Faith I grew up fishing. Most of…
